本日8月8日と明日9日、マウンテンバイクパークでは二つの大きなイベントが同時に繰り広げられています。ひとつは芝ゲレンデを舞台にしたタイムアタック大会「FREERIDE GAMES」。もうひとつは「DHS in MTBファンミーティング/KIDS OF JAPAN」として開催されるダウンヒルシリーズです。同じ会場、同じ週末に、これだけ規模の異なる二つのイベントが重なるのは珍しく、園内はいつも以上ににぎやかな雰囲気に包まれています。

芝ゲレンデではタイムアタックに挑む選手たちの真剣な表情が見られる一方、ダウンヒルコース側ではシリーズ戦らしい迫力あるライディングが繰り広げられています。レースを終えた選手同士が声をかけ合ったり、キッズクラスの小さなライダーが元気に走り抜けたりと、会場のあちこちで異なる熱量の光景が同時進行しているのも面白いところです。

レース観戦だけでなく、フリーライドの時間帯にはメーカーブースや協力ショップの出展もあり、初めてマウンテンバイクに触れる方でも会場の空気を楽しめます。二つのイベントが重なるこの週末だからこそ味わえる、特別なにぎわいをぜひ体感してみてください。

大会期間中は特設コースを使用するため、10番コース・15番コースが通行規制の対象となります。
Today, August 8th, and tomorrow, August 9th, two major mountain bike events are taking place at once at the mountain bike park: “FREERIDE GAMES,” a timed race held on the grass slope, and “DHS in MTB Fan Meeting / KIDS OF JAPAN,” part of the Downhill Series. Having two events of such different scale overlap at the same venue on the same weekend is a rare occurrence, and the atmosphere throughout the park is livelier than usual.

While riders take on focused, timed runs on the grass course, the downhill side is alive with the intensity typical of a series race. Riders greet each other after their runs, and young Kids-class racers zip through the course with energy — it’s fascinating to see two very different kinds of excitement unfold side by side.
